Kruidvat

Kruidvat is a Dutch drugstore chain founded in 1975 with its head office in Renswoude. It sells care, beauty, health and household products at low prices, with the slogan "always surprising, always good value". Kruidvat has been part of the A.S. Watson Group, the retail arm of the Hong Kong group CK Hutchison, since 2002.

Range and own brand

The range covers health and beauty products for everyday needs. Kruidvat sells a large number of articles under its own Kruidvat brand, which it says offers good quality at an attractive price.

Where to find it

According to Kruidvat (2026), the chain has almost 1,300 stores in the Netherlands and Belgium: more than 980 in the Netherlands and more than 300 in Belgium, with more than 25,000 employees. A.S. Watson describes itself as the world's largest international health and beauty retailer with more than 17,000 stores in 31 markets and 12 retail brands.

Online shopping

Kruidvat works with an "O+O" network, offline plus online, as A.S. Watson calls its approach across the group. Details of the Dutch web shop and delivery options are on kruidvat.nl.

Ownership

Kruidvat's parent CK Hutchison is based in Hong Kong and controls more than half of the company, so Kruidvat is marked as having a non-European parent.
