Gerolsteiner

Website

Gerolsteiner is a German mineral water company from Gerolstein in the Eifel. The mining director Wilhelm Castendyck started test drilling there in 1887 because he expected large carbon dioxide deposits, and he founded the company Gerolsteiner Sprudel on 1 January 1888. The black lion in an eight-pointed red star, taken from the coat of arms of Gerolstein, became the trademark in the same year. In 1984 the Flora-Brunnen (founded 1883) merged with Gerolsteiner Sprudel to form Gerolsteiner Brunnen.
