S.Pellegrino
WebsiteS.Pellegrino is a sparkling natural mineral water from San Pellegrino Terme in the Val Brembana, in the foothills of the Italian Alps. The Sanpellegrino company was founded in 1899 and produced 35,343 bottles of the water in its first year, 5,562 of which went overseas. According to Nestlé the water needs at least 30 years to travel through rock in the Dolomites, and it is now sold in more than 150 countries.
Range
- Sparkling natural mineral water in glass bottles, cans and PET bottles, widely served in restaurants
- Sanpellegrino Aranciata, which the company calls the world's first orangeade (1932), and other Italian sparkling drinks
- The S.Pellegrino Young Chef Academy, a talent competition for young chefs that began in 2015
Ownership
Sanpellegrino belongs to Nestlé, whose group seat is in Vevey, Switzerland. On 23 July 2026 Nestlé and the US private equity firm Platinum Equity announced a 50/50 joint venture called Peranel for the waters business, with S.Pellegrino, Perrier and Acqua Panna among its brands and a seat in Paris. Closing is expected by the first half of 2027. Because Platinum Equity would hold exactly half, the non-European parent flag stays off for now.
