San Benedetto

San Benedetto is an Italian drinks company from Scorzè near Venice. The company Acqua Minerale San Benedetto S.p.A. was founded on 10 April 1956 at the Scorzè plant, where the first glass bottle of the water was filled. The water is named after an old spring at a depth of about 300 metres, and the company says it comes from glaciers of the Dolomites and the Alps.

Range

• Mineral water in many formats, including the compact one litre bottle Easy
• In 1984 it was the first Italian company to launch PET containers in several sizes, and it makes its own containers
• A wider drinks range with other water brands such as Guizza and Fonte del Pollino, plus soft drinks

Ownership

The Zoppas family holds 100 percent of Finanziaria San Benedetto, which heads the group. The company calls itself the only one in its sector with entirely Italian capital. Subsidiaries operate in Spain, Poland and Hungary. There is no non-European parent.
