Website

Ubisoft is a French video game publisher and developer headquartered in Saint-Mandé near Paris. It was founded on 28 March 1986 by the five Guillemot brothers and is listed on Euronext Paris. Its franchises include Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, Rainbow Six, Just Dance, Rayman, Prince of Persia, Anno and Watch Dogs. The Guillemot family remains the largest shareholder with about 14 percent, and the group had around 16,600 employees in 2026.

Features

  • Studios on several continents, organised into creative houses.
  • Games for PC, consoles and mobile, sold through its own store and Ubisoft Connect, the account and launcher service.
  • Subscription service Ubisoft+ with access to a game catalogue.
  • Vantage Studios, a subsidiary for the Assassin's Creed, Far Cry and Rainbow Six brands, in which the Chinese group Tencent holds a 26.32 percent economic interest since November 2025.

Ownership and limits

Tencent also holds 9.99 percent of Ubisoft itself, which is far from a majority, so the company is not flagged as having a non-European parent. Ubisoft games usually require an Ubisoft account, and some titles are also sold through other stores.
