Valverbe is an Italian agricultural cooperative based in Melle, Piedmont. Founded in Bellino in 1985, it grows and processes herbs, especially for organic filter-bag infusions.

From alpine fields to Melle

The cooperative began in the upper Varaita Valley and now operates in Melle. Valverbe says its supply chain covers cultivation, harvesting, drying and packing. The company reports 50 hectares of medicinal plants across three elevations.

Herbal tea range

The catalogue includes single herb infusions and blends with chamomile, fennel, lemon, ginger, berries and propolis. Valverbe Chiesetta, Erbalis and Terrae Monaci are three product lines. Product pages list ingredients and brewing details for preparing a hot infusion.

Processing and tea bags

Valverbe describes using open-cell drying in a CFT plant. The process removes water from harvested herbs while keeping cell membranes intact, according to the company. It says its filter bags are sealed without glue or metal staples and use organic cotton thread to connect the bag and tag.

Organic cultivation and controls

The cooperative says it grows herbs organically and without genetically modified organisms, and avoids pesticides. It lists CCPB organic certification, ISO 45001 and 14001 certifications, and IFS certification. These credentials concern cultivation and production processes, not a health effect from drinking tea.

Other products and sales

Valverbe also makes dried herbs, mother tinctures, glycerin macerates and constitutional waters. Some lines include herbal sweets and cosmetics. It sells through its online shop and says its products are available from specialist retailers and supermarkets.
