Three of the seven providers are marked as having a non-European parent: Native Instruments (inMusic, USA, agreement signed in May 2026), Reason Studios (LANDR, Canada, announced in January 2026) and Steinberg (Yamaha, Japan, since 2005). For Ableton, Bitwig, Image-Line and Arturia public sources show no non-European owner.
Apple's Logic Pro and Avid's Pro Tools come from US companies. Their alternatives are covered on the pages European alternatives to Logic Pro and European alternatives to Pro Tools. As a rule of thumb, Ableton Live and Bitwig suit clip-based composing and live performance, FL Studio is a common start for beat-making, Reason works with a wired virtual rack, and Cubase is the choice for classic recording and scoring.
