Website

Baxters Food Group is a Scottish family company based in Fochabers in Moray. It started in 1868 when George Baxter opened a grocery shop in the village, and his wife Margaret began making jams and jellies in the back room. The company is still run by the Baxter family, with Audrey Baxter at the helm.

Products

  • Soups, including the Royal Game soup and Scottish recipes such as Cock-a-leekie and Scotch Broth.
  • Jams, preserves and canned fruit.
  • Beetroot products, a long running line of the company.

Company

Baxters received the Royal Warrant of Appointment from Queen Elizabeth II. Besides its sites in the UK it operates food manufacturing in the USA, Australia and Poland, according to its company timeline.

The family history includes several generations. William Baxter built a factory beside the River Spey, his wife Ethel pioneered canning of local fruit, and Gordon and Ena Baxter created the Best of Scotland concept for department stores abroad. The Baxter name stays on the products to this day.
