Adolf Darbo AG is an Austrian family food company based in Stans, Tyrol. It makes jams and fruit spreads, honey, syrups, fruit desserts and other fruit products for food retailers, restaurants, hotels and food manufacturers. The family traces its fruit processing business to 1879.

A family business since 1879

The Darbo family began making jams, syrups and fruit liqueurs in Görz in 1879. After the First World War, the family moved to Stans, where it rebuilt its jam and honey business. The fifth generation now runs the company.

Jams and fruit spreads

The retail range includes All Natural jams based on an old family recipe, single jars and reduced-sugar options. Flavours include apricot, strawberry, raspberry, sour cherry and wild blueberry. A separate 80% fruit range offers spreads with a particularly high fruit content. The company also sells honey, fruit desserts, sauces, syrup, jelly and regional specialities.

Gentle fruit preparation

Darbo says its All Natural jams are made with carefully selected fruit, sugar, lemon juice concentrate and pectin. The fruit is gently heated and stirred to preserve its flavour. The company’s history describes quick-freezing fruit after harvest to maintain supply beyond the picking season, followed by small-batch handling and filling into jars.

For breakfast, baking and foodservice

Jams and honey are sold for spreading at home, while syrups can be diluted into drinks and fruit desserts served by the spoon. Darbo publishes recipes using its products in pastries, breakfasts, sauces and savoury dishes. Larger packs, portions and fruit preparations are also offered to hotels, bakeries, restaurants and confectioners.
