Ownership and limits
The Japanese company Sega bought Rovio in 2023 for about 706 million euros. Sega acquired 97.7 percent of the shares, and the squeeze-out of the remaining shares followed. Rovio is therefore flagged as having a non-European parent. Its headquarters and development remain in Finland.
