Søstrene Grene

Søstrene Grene is a Danish lifestyle chain for home decoration and creative ideas for everyday life. Inger Grene and Knud Cresten Vaupell opened the first shop in Aarhus in 1973. The "sisters" Anna and Clara, two fictional characters, present ideas and favourite products on the website.

Where to find it

The company reports more than 400 stores in 16 European countries (company website, 2026). Its press office announced the first stores in Poland and Italy, which would bring the number of countries with physical stores to 19, and a goal of 500 stores by 2027. The webshop in Finland was the 16th country with online sales.

Ownership

Mikkel Grene, the son of the founders, is the second-generation owner and group CEO. The company has no outside or non-European owner.
