Bialetti
WebsiteBialetti is an Italian company known for the Moka Express, the octagonal aluminium stovetop coffee maker. Alfonso Bialetti opened a workshop for aluminium semi-finished products in Crusinallo near Omegna in 1919, and he developed the Moka Express in 1933. His son Renato then expanded the company into one of the main Italian producers of home coffee makers.
Range

- Coffee, capsules and accessories
Company
In 1993 Francesco Ranzoni bought the entire capital of Alfonso Bialetti & Co. from Faema, and in July 2007 Bialetti Industrie became listed on the Italian stock exchange. In 2025 NUO Capital, the investment company of the Hong Kong based Pao Cheng family, took over 78.6 % of the shares, so Bialetti is now controlled from outside Europe while it remains based in Italy. The classic moka pot is inexpensive and simple, but it brews stronger, espresso-like coffee without pressure and needs a little practice. For the coffee machine category, Bialetti represents the stovetop tradition rather than fully automatic machines.
