Vinted
WebsiteVinted is a marketplace for second-hand fashion, headquartered in Vilnius, Lithuania. Milda Mitkutė and Justas Janauskas founded it in 2008. Vinted became Lithuania's first technology unicorn in 2019 and later took over the German platforms Kleiderkreisel and Mamikreisel. Private users sell clothes, shoes, accessories, children's items and some home goods to each other.
Features
- Listing is free for sellers, and buyers pay a buyer protection fee on purchases.
- Integrated payment and shipping labels with parcel shops and lockers.
- Active in many European markets, with apps for iOS and Android.
Limits
Vinted is a consumer-to-consumer platform, so item condition and descriptions depend on the private seller, and sellers can be located in other countries. Investors include Lightspeed, Insight Partners, Accel and Burda, with no single non-European majority holder documented. The range is dominated by fashion.
