Boursin
WebsiteBoursin is a French fresh cheese brand. François Boursin opened a cheese factory in Croisy-sur-Eure in Normandy in 1957 and developed a creamy cheese with garlic and herbs that became the brand's signature, Boursin Garlic & Fine Herbs. In 1968 Boursin was the first cheese brand to appear in a national French television campaign, and the slogan "Du pain, du vin, du Boursin" followed in 1972.
Range
- Spreadable cheese in several flavours, the classic being garlic and fine herbs
- Individual portions and aperitif formats
- A plant-based spreadable version, launched in 2021
- Variants for salads and for cooking
Ownership
Boursin joined Bel Group in 2007. Bel is a family-owned cheese company headquartered in Suresnes near Paris and also makes Mini Babybel and La vache qui rit, which is why the group is listed separately in this category. Boursin is a soft fresh cheese for spreading and dipping, not a mature cheese, and the flavour range differs by country.
