foodora

foodora is a food and grocery delivery brand of the Berlin-based Delivery Hero group. It started in Munich in 2014 as Volo and was bought by Delivery Hero in 2015. Today the brand serves customers in Sweden, Norway, Austria, Czechia and Hungary, and it left Germany after the German business was sold to Lieferando in 2019.

Ownership and outlook

foodora belongs fully to Delivery Hero. Following Uber's takeover offer for Delivery Hero of 16 July 2026, foodora's business in Austria, Czechia, Norway and Sweden is to be sold to the New York investment firm SSW Partners and the Hungarian business to Uber, with completion expected in the second half of 2027. Until then foodora operates independently and is listed without a notice.
