Glovo

Glovo is a Spanish on-demand delivery app headquartered in Barcelona. Oscar Pierre and Sacha Michaud founded it in 2015. It delivers restaurant meals, groceries, pharmacy items and goods from high street stores, with couriers picking up and bringing orders to the door. Glovo is active in Spain, Italy, Portugal, Poland, Romania and Ukraine as well as in markets in North Africa, East Africa and Central Asia.

Ownership and outlook

Delivery Hero of Berlin holds about 94 percent of Glovo since July 2022. On 16 July 2026 Delivery Hero announced a takeover offer by the US company Uber, with completion expected in the second half of 2027. Glovo's operations in Spain, Poland, Portugal, Romania and Moldova are meant to go to the New York investment firm SSW Partners, the rest to Uber. Until closing the brand runs independently and is listed without a notice.
