Zammad

Website

Zammad is an open source helpdesk and ticketing system developed by Zammad GmbH in Berlin. The company was founded in 2014 by Martin Edenhofer, who had previously worked on the OTRS ticket system, and version 1.0 was released in October 2016. The software is licensed under AGPL-3.0, and the Zammad Foundation was set up to safeguard its free software status. The name comes from the Bavarian word for "together".

Features

  • Email, chat, phone, Twitter and Facebook channels in one ticket view, plus SMS and a knowledge base.
  • Automated ticket assignment, roles and groups, reporting and a REST API.
  • Integrations with LDAP, Microsoft Exchange, SAML, S/MIME, Grafana, GitLab, GitHub and Jira, and webhooks.

Hosting and limits

Because the source code is public on GitHub, Zammad can be run on an own server. Zammad is a ticket system and not a CRM, so sales pipelines and marketing automation need other tools.
