European children's clothing brands include Nordic outdoor specialists, French heritage labels and large fashion retailers. The sixteen brands listed here come from Finland, France, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Spain and Ireland. The criterion is the headquarters of the company behind the brand, not where the clothes are sewn. Brands with a strong outdoor focus, everyday ranges and classic French labels are all represented.

Outdoor, classic or everyday

  • Outdoor and weather: Reima and Didriksons focus on rain, wind and cold, which suits kindergarten and playground use.
  • Everyday basics: Polarn O. Pyret, NAME IT, Sanetta and the retailers cover daily clothing and sleepwear at different price levels.
  • Classic and dressy: Jacadi and Petit Bateau lean towards French style, with higher prices than the retailers.

Ownership and what is missing

Most brands here are family-owned or held by European investors. Petit Bateau is the exception: it is French, but its buyer Regent is American, so the page flags it. All other brands are headquartered in Europe and have no non-European majority owner. Large US children's labels such as Carter's or OshKosh are not European and therefore not listed. For children's shoes, see sneakers, and for baby care diapers and strollers.
